Adult Programs
Mission Road Developmental Center provides residential care for adults with intellectual and other developmental disabilities through the ICF (Intermediate Care Facility) program and the HCS (Home and Community-Based Services) programs.
Mission Road Developmental Center provides in-home and family support services to children and adults with intellectual and other developmental disabilities who choose to remain in their own home.
ISS Free To Be Day Activity – Southside Campus
Mission Road Developmental Center provides an active, engaging ISS (Individualized Skills & Socialization) day activity program in stimulating environment for adults with IDD (intellectual and other developmental disabilities), some of whom also live with intense medical needs requiring full care. We are located on the city’s southside and are open Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 3:00pm.
Mission Road Ministries sponsors a supervised apartment program for adults with IDD who need minimal supports. The goal of the program is to provide supportive services to optimize the independence and productivity of the adults in an affordable living arrangement.
ISS Day Activity Program, Life Skills & Job Training Programs – Unicorn Centers Campus
Life skills and job training programs are offered at our Unicorn Centers Campus located near the medical center in Northwest San Antonio. As a program within Mission Road Developmental Center, we serve both residents of Mission Road community homes and those living elsewhere. Programs offered at our Unicorn Centers campus include social activities, community outings, life skills and job training appropriate for adults living with IDD. Our two exceptional programs include Community Employment & Job Coaching, and our ISS (Individualized Skills & Socialization) Adult Day Activity Center.
Host Companion Care
Many aging adults with IDD prefer to live in their own home with family members or live with non-relatives in a Host Companion Family (formerly Foster Family) well into their senior years.
